WELCOME TO "TRANSCENDENT NATURE"

It is my heartfelt wish that you enjoy the time you spend here and that something within these web pages will touch you in a positive way. Ideally, with this web presentation and these images, I hoped to create something of an Internet Sanctuary - an always accessible exit off the Information Superhighway - a cyber parkland.

If you have visited us during the last couple of years you may be wondering what happened to the web site, "Journeys Through Wild Light." After two years of "Journeys" I felt it was time to move in a direction that better reflected my ambition of growth within the context of my art and its presentation. "Journeys" was beginning to feel too much like a travelogue and did not adequately represent the emotionality or individual expressiveness I have set as my goal.

Thank you so much for taking some time out of your travels to join me in these travels. I sincerely hope that you feel your time here was well spent.

KURT´S PICTURE OF NIAGARA FALLS ON A U. S. STAMP

Kurt is honored that his work was chosen to represent the splendor of Niagara Falls. This is the first U.S. Stamp in many years commemorating the beauty of Niagara Falls in a photograph. First day of issue: May 12th 1999 in Niagara Falls, NY.

THE LATEST

"Transcendent Nature" web site replaces "Journeys Through Wild Light." A number of new photographs have been added and all imagery has been re-scanned by the artist using a high-end scanner. The images have greatly improved fidelity to the original film, as they were scanned primarily, directly from the original medium and large format transparencies. They are also presented here in a much larger size. With our new scanning capabilities we will now finally be able to offer a much requested item - beautifully produced screensavers of Kurt's work. For more information on this and other upcoming developments please go to the GIFT SHOP AND DOWNLOADS section of the site.

For presentation on the web, file compressions on the larger versions of the photographs have been tweaked to keep most image file sizes between 50k and 80k. An attempt has been made to arrive at an optimal file size for each image to balance a desirable quality of reproduction with necessary download considerations. I hope you will find the images worth the download time.
