ABOUT THE MOMENT: Apprehension about photo equipment aside, there was no hesitation once I realized that the best vantage for this fleeting scene was knee-deep in the cold mountain waters.  Shooting into such brilliant light required metering for the mid-tones to maintain the vibrancy ofthe moment.
